sixty one!

So... Slept through my morning alarm even though I set it and everything..... sigh... bad student.

Went to an Orientation thing after my last class.. It's a CCAP UNESCO program where I get invited to different elementary and high schools to educate students about my home culture.. in this case, Australian culture.

That's where all the problems are...

You see, a lot of other cultures have very straight-forward things to talk about... For example, Koreans can talk about traditional Korean dress, dance, songs and food.

What does Australia have? Indigenous history, Gold Rush, a flag, Shkippies! (Kangaroos), Koalas, Harbour Bridge?

+++ What does an 'Australian' look like... Surely the kids would find it weird to see an Asian talking about Australia as if it was his country..

But that's where it kicked in... Australia is multicultural. It's a free country with no solid cultural identity.. You are free to do what you want, practice what you want.. as long as you abide by the Australian way of life... which seems to be one that is accepting and show respect for other cultures - oh and to at least try to learn how to speak English.

The closest things to cultural topics that I can even begin to mention are probably...

- The beaches (Awesome road trip destinations)
- Surfing/Bodyboarding/Fishing
- Barbies and beer with da boyzz
- Tim Tams.

+++ When you think about it... Sydney is already split up into funny sub-national suburbs... We have Koreans in Strathfield/Eastwood, Asians in Chatswood, Chinese people in Ashfield (?), etc...
Quite an interesting city when you think about it...
But GOSH I miss it.

I guess with that in mind, I am thankful for such a country.. and the opportunity to be living in Australia.

I still call Australia home.

Jks. Korea FTW.
Jks. Indonesia FTW.

Kkkk... jks..

Integra ftw.

At the orientation

DINNER TIME after.. Went with Soo to this Korean restaurant behind our dormitory.. A reallllllly nice restaurant tucked away.... LOVED it.

And then shopping at E-mart... to buy my calculator that I'll never use again in my life.... and supplies.

Thankful: A mild start to the week... Fun times ahead!!! ish.

Prayerful: The exam is bugging me a lot... It looks really hard and I'm feeling the pressure.

Dangers: Not getting along with a person in our group... Pray for patience and wisdom in finding the opportune time to talk things through...
