one hundred and thirty three.

Hi Cheung family!!!

Met up with Tim + his family today at 9am.. Good stuff!!! Quite a lot of fun and I hope they enjoyed the day too =].

I actually had a lot of grievances prior to meeting with them....

At 2am, I climbed into bed.
At 3am, I woke up from coughing
At 4am, I woke up again from coughing
At 4.30am, I tried to waste time on my laptop because I couldn't sleep anyway.. Thought it was a good idea to stay up.
At 5am, I decided to climb into bed again.

Coughs were non stop...

Worrying.

I'm not sick. I don't have a cold. I don't have any other symptoms of a cold.. Just an itchy, stubborn cough. Weird.

Anyway.

We started the day at a cafe... A nice chill start filled with introductory conversations and Tim's sister and mother are very easy to talk to. =] Took a lot of pressure off my shoulders already =D.
His father was sick in the morning so he asked to meet us around lunchtime after he had gotten some rest.

After breakfast, we went to Gyeongbok palace to see the changing of the guards ceremony and also to check out the museum and what-not. It was freezing.... -16 degrees apparently.... Argh.

At around 12, we headed back to the hotel to meet up with Tim's father and to get ready for lunch.

We went to a Kalgooksoo place that we passed in the morning. It was awesome. $4.50 for a really well made noodle soup. Tim's family seemed to like it and his dad enjoyed his stone pot bibimbap. =D.

The rest of the day was just shopping and checking out all sorts of shops.
We started with Namdaemun Market - a little traditional trip to start off with.
Souvenirs, cheap stuff and non-branded pieces were found here and we left with some souvenirs.

After that, we went to Myeongdong where we checked out a little bit more luxurious clothes. There were sales going on so even I was tempted... But I shall wait until Hemi gets here ;D.
Tim and I had a little fun playing a 'which one of our friends would wear that' game at H&M.

It was really fun but it made me miss Sydney people all the more -_-.

"That's Anna Liang's style"
"Jody would wear that"
"Mmmm... That's definitely Bronwyn."
"Ashling's style right there"
"Tiff Cheung would suit that"
"Guys? Most of the guys in our group practically wear the same things... Jeans, shirt, jacket, high tops."

LOL.

But... it was a little sad at times when I had forgotten how some of my friends dressed.. 4 months here has taken its toll... I've gotten used to how Eero, Lyna, etc.. dresses and seeing their faces almost everyday.

After Myeongdong, we went to Dongdaemun for some young, non-branded fashion. Cheap, lots of variety and more casual. =].

But before that, we had dinner.

BBQ Buffet.... Best. ever.

THAT BEEF WAS AWESOME. GOSH. AND PORK. ADSGJSDOPGJDSPG.

$14 pp for all you can eat. I'm definitely taking my family here.

Dress shirts at its finest.

Evan would probably enjoy looking through this shop =D.

LOL. Tim haggles better than I do.... And he doesn't even have to speak Korean -_-.
Gosh...

I guess I've never been a haggling type...

Obed: 12000 > 10000
Tim: 48000 > 45000
Tim: 42000 > 30000

LOL.

Zzzzzz..

XD.

Overall.... A great day.

Running on two hours of sleep, I struggled through the day.. But it was often forgotten because I actually had fun. It was packed with activities and eating but also.. It was refreshing to see a familiar face after so long =D.

Thanks to Tim's family for letting me test my Korean language skills and my tour-guide abilities. XD. Also for being patient if I had failed somewhere and overall for being great guests =D.

I'm still coughing now but I am getting better I think...
