THE BIG 2 - 1.

Yes, today was my birthday... and today was all over the place...
A lot of disappointment, confusion, joy and frustration....

It started in the morning...

- Lack of sleep and headed off to class... Got those weird stares again from people (some in my class).. It's like a... 'omg, look at that guy.. who does he think he is' kinda stare... Probably because my jacket is all black and it's a bit foreign to see an all black jacket.... But yeah.... It felt like one of those judgmental stares.

- Had a brief chat with father on WhatsApp... Not necessarily good news or bad news... But stressful nevertheless.

- On the way back to my dorm, I told my close friends to have dinner with me tonight to celebrate my 21st... Out of the 13 or so people I invited, 7 came. The most common excuse was "Sorry, I have homework/Assignment/Test". Some people didn't even seem like they cared.... Sigh... some birthday..

- Closer to dinner, people started saying 'oh... I have a bit of homework, so I'll get there late, etc....'... Adding to the frustration and disappointment...

- By the time dinnertime came up, I was already in a ceebs mood... I didn't want to go out and I felt like it was going to be a lame dinner anyway... Eero lost his phone, so I went to the Grad school building to catch him after his class ended at 8pm. Soo and I were there and we managed to catch him =].

- Eero and Soo seemed to be the only ones who were very happy to see me.

- At the meeting point, we bumped into Nihat.. He's from Azerbaijan and he's a very genuine, awesome and kindhearted guy. He was waiting there in the cold for 15 minutes to ensure that he was on time. He's another one of my good friends that I don't get to hang out with much... These three instantly brightened my night.

- We met up with Darren (Netherlands) and he was ready for a good night. He's my karaoke buddy because he knows all the good songs - The Script, Lifehouse, Goo goo dolls, etc... He's broke because he overspent on his credit card, but he came out anyway. Good man.

- We then went over to the restaurant and got ourselves a table... Whilst waiting for Nicole + Julia to show up.

- Several minutes later and a few sips of beer... Nicole + Julia popped up..... with an ice cream cake and a present. Turned out that 'homework' was just a white lie and used the 'I'll meet you at the restaurant' story so that they could buy the cake + present behind my back (It was an ice cream cake, so it was better to have bought it just before eating it). Of course, I was very touched and everything seemed to fit into place. Nicole + Julia then told me that they'd been planning this since a few days back on FB... So yeah... I thought wrong about my friends. Nicole + Julia are very caring... They know how to read situations and are very good at surprises. Anyway, now that we were all there.. We ate! =]

 The dragon is an inside joke... Our group's mascot is Puff the Magic Dragon because it's Eero's favourite song.. basically. And we're all involved in the song now HAHA.

After shot.... Demolished.

After dinner, Nicole, Julia and Soo had to leave because they had work to do... Their exams are on Thursday and yeah I understood their situation... I'm very thankful they made the sacrifice to come out.

So after they left, it was just us guys left... Me, Eero, Darren and Nihat. We went over to a bar.

We had an 'interesting' conversation....... about their stories with women... These guys are quite the womanizers.. And yeah... the conversation revealed once again, the inner nature of girls (as innocent as they may seem). I didn't join in much in the conversation, although I had stories of my own to tell too... But they are stories that I'm not proud of.

After a few drinks, we decided it was time to go (12am).

On the way back, Eero won me a computer mouse for this laptop. He's awesome at those machines (magic wand machines on the streets).


But yeah...

So I am 21 years old now...

Approaching that age where you start making tough choices regarding your future...

Career, girlfriend (?), friends, etc... Scary thought.

It's now 4.30am... Sister is leaving later today... So I shall sleep so I can see her off at the airport... I already had a chat with my professor to take the day off... He's 110% fine with it.. "Family comes first!!! No problem". He's an elderly man, so he knows the importance of family.

Thankful: Blessed with another year of divine grace and blessed with friends.

Prayerful: Stress... Frustration... Nothing has gone right the past few days.... Struggle street.

Dangers: We are planning on drinking Thursday night/this weekend... And the guys possibly meeting some girls... Gotta be careful.
