omg it's 4.15am... what am i doing up....

this is becoming a bad habit... staying up just watching random videos on youtube... anime [Bleach/Naruto] or Korean TV shows.... at least with the latter, it helps with my language learning.... but watching anime is just confusing my Korean with Japanese...

Anyway...

today was a tiring day.. went to COEX mall again but this time it was to show the others the mall itself and do some general bumming with Michael [Austrian guy], Lyna and Nicole (Eero had class today).

As it is rather late/early.. and I will need to wake up slightly early today for a chat.. I'm sorry but i'll make it short..

Funny thing happened today in Special Topics in IR class [North + South Korean relations class].

One of the guys in the class was sleeping.. and the girl next to him woke him up.
The professor reacted with - "Why did you wake him up?"
The girl: "He was falling asleep professor.."
Professor: "It's okay.. I like watching people sleep.."
The whole class froze and laughed after.

But he later explained the warmth and hope he feels when he observes youthfulness at its best... the seeming peace when students sleep in class, young couples kissing and the smiles on children jumping around on a sunny day..

My professor is quite an old man.. and he's had a rough past... being involved with the government and international relations ALL his life...
He was there for WW2 and Korean War... and he has some epic connections with wartime generals from BOTH sides of the Korean peninsula... AND with American high-ranking officials who were there for the Post-Japanese invasion restoration of South Korea.... amazing professor he is..

After this IR class, I went upstairs to the 8th floor to wait for the others to come out.

Hallway in the Graduate school building as I waited for the Korean language class to finish.

pretending to study.

we had lunch at the cafeteria... $3 for a meal.. it was so good... i had spicy pork belly with rice and yeah.. good stuff.

and then we headed to wangsimni to head off to COEX mall... but got stopped for free samples of bubble tea.

at COEX mall...

robots are taking over.

This was a restaurant.. SO nice inside.. wish Syd had something like this... fancy but affordable.

On our way to dinner before we went home.. because Lyna was feeling sick..

When i got home.. i did some more laundry and then helped Lyna + Nicole learn Korean..

we were doing double consonant pronounciation... and my friend said i had bad pronounciation.. but the others were saying he had bad pronounciation and i sound more like all the other Koreans they know...

after-study dessert.

Doing better today in terms of my Spirituality... had a good introductory chat with Nicole about my faith and how it differs to some others.... It is a rather daunting feeling to have your friend ask you "Do you believe in Jesus?".. but i am somewhat comforted to have responded almost straight away with "Yes."
I will not be ashamed of God in front of my friends.

Thankful: An inspirational IR Professor with a lot of wisdom in his gray hair. It's professors like him that universities need.

Prayerful: Time management... Even if I don't have class until 1.30pm on Thursdays.. it doesn't mean I should stay up till sunrise.

Dangers: I almost forgot to blog tonight... Because I was too immersed into wasting time on too many videos. Where blogging is a good (but not the only) way I can sustain a reflective attitude, it should be important enough for me to dedicate some time for it (but not more than personal quiet times with God).
