tourist day!
woke up at 11.20am (after staying up last night), 40 minutes before our meeting time outside of the dorm to head to Gyeongbok Palace =].
i went with Lyna, Nicole and Eero to Wangsimni station and then caught a train to Gyeongbok Palace station; just underneath the palace itself. woohoo!
door.
genius.
found hemi.
station exit to the palace
a cultural icon in the heart of the city. history meets modernity.
guards!
the guards were huge.. or i'm just small..
eero's orange shorts.
ya mom's house.
so many tourists actually sat on this ledge thing... badasses
ceiling... =O
creepy well

caught him checking himself out.
creepy well again.

this is where the queen was assassinated by the Japanese when the queen sought help from Russia a while back.
surprised they had this in the early ages.... YEUH.
Korean words and making long sentences short.
my zodiac sign =X
HELLO
the Folk Museum
unfortunately we weren't allowed to take photos... i decided to abide by the rule.
tangerine juice... SO GOOD. $2.50
Lyna's ice cream.
the only picture i took inside the museum... i was a badass.
it's Shawn Tan again!
it's Lennox and Josh Chan.
.... mm... Peiting.
Museum exit.
road that surrounded the Palace
Main Road.. soooo busy.
we decided to take a taxi back to Wangsimni because we were tired and we thought it would be faster..
BAM were we wrong... the taxi ended up taking longer and it was almost more than double the price of the subway because it was 5pm and it was peak hour... =[
o wells. it was still $2 anyway. LOL.
Wangsimni plaza front side.
we then took a Hanyang Women's University shuttle bus back to our dormitory to attend a table tennis meeting...
creepy basement hallway at the school stadium on our way to the club room.
we met up with Nelson at the meeting hall for the table tennis club but only Nicole stayed (she would). so Lyna, Eero and I decided to head back to Wangsimni for dinner. >=D
YEUH.
we've been talking about this for 3 or so days... but it was time to try the sushi buffet at Wangsimni! it was $14ish for all you can eat.. 1 hour and 20 mins max.
grilled salmon, octopus, flatfish, squid, trout and eel
they also had salmon sashimi, smoked duck, etc..
takoyaki! prawn and sweet raw prawn.
the dessert ... soooo full. self serve ice cream and waffles.
slizzbucket.
ATE WAY too much.... but it was good >=D. could hardly walk afterwards....
but Lyna and Eero still had room for dessert.. so they went to Bubble Tok (Easyway/Chatime equivalent).
Healthy and ETC. LOL.
interesting moment of the day:
on the Hanyang Women's University shuttle... EVERY passenger was a girl... except for me and Eero.. you can imagine how much we stood out... it was eyes on us the whole time and it was mega awks... Eero liked the attention though. me... maybe not so much.
tomorrow (or today) is Saturday... so it will be a rest day for me.. thinking of just staying at home all day and maybe get some reading and quiet times done by the river again... been spending quite a bit of money so we'll stop there..
i've already spent (since 1st Sept),
- $220 on shopping
- $50 on textbook
- $260 on going out (dinners, sightseeing, etc..)
sigh...
on a separately serious note...
i've been getting very weird dreams lately... very vividly provoking dreams... i don't want to get into too much detail, but they are very unhelpful.. the emotions i feel when i'm dreaming these dreams feel so real and they tend to be reflections of what i've done in the past and what it does is simply like scratching open a scab and exposing my flesh to potential infection...
on the note of disciplining my mind to reject unhelpful thoughts, i can't do it with dreams because they happen so naturally... so i am in need for the supernatural to happen.
Thankful: Learning and experiencing such a unique and separate culture from Australia and really enjoying just a small portion of this beautiful world that God created.
Prayerful: For a fruitful quiet time today because I am in need of it... A lot of things has happened...
Dangers: The more I grow comfortable living here... the more bad habits pop up... more struggles each day and more room to fall.
