day 2.
Woooo!!! long day today!!!
woke up at 11-ish, took a shower, etc... decided to go to the convenience store and grab my breakfast. shop assistant spoke something i didn't get and i replied "sorry" ... MUST RESPOND IN KOREAN NEXT TIME.
the good thing is at least i can understand currency/money quite well. =D
at approx. 2.30, i met up with Jo and we had lunch together and decided to go explore!! WOO!!! Ate $3 udon and i bought my T-card that i'll be using to go around town =]
the train stations feel like i'm about to go on a rollercoaster... two lines, door opening at set positions, etc..
we then went to Myeongdong, a tourist-y area with lots of shopping, Japanese people AND LOTTE Department store!!! we looked at $10 shirts, $20 jackets, $40 jeans and YEUH. good stuff =D =D =D =D
and i met Thor...
and i met Thor...
We went to an Olleh KT store (phone/SIM) to see if i could get my sim.. but not within the first 3 days of my stay in Korea.. so i must go again on monday to get it =] we kept walking around the shops.. SO many shops... and toward LOTTE department store =D it felt like i was in chinatown in sydney, but with a heck of a lot more Koreans/Asians !! there are soooooo many beauty/cosmetic shops and a lot of posters of Jang Geun Suk!
LOTTE DEPARTMENT STORE IN THE BACKGROUND!!
Never would've guessed there would be a Wilson parking here! LOL ED HAN.
Patbingsoo with Jo!! there were cherry tomatoes in there =O
LAWLLLL.
Yoogane restaurant thingo! spicy chicken =] pretti good!!!
overall an enjoyable and interesting day.. great to have spent a day with a person who could understand and speak english LOL. a lot of weird looks because i was speaking english and looked Korean... but it was troll >=D
not sure what i'll be doing tomorrow because it will be raining (and will be for the next few days) but for now, i am exhausted and in need of some devotion time/quiet time. =]
i am still thankful for this opportunity and for the experience of being placed out of my fishbowl into the greater ocean... God does provide; a friend when i'm in need, food and shelter, and a brave Spirit when i am most scared.
Thankful: Friends I can rely on in Korea to help me get around and settle in easier.
Prayerful: Health (I didn't get any shots before I came here.. oops) and general safety.
Dangers: Laziness in doing quiet times and devotion due to anxiety and stress.
UPDATE!!!
Hurricane warnings for Tuesday and Typhoon Monday night... it will be a very windy and wet weekend + start of week.... Notsureifbeingdramaqueenoractuallyworried.
